I posted earlier about Beira Alta at Montecasino, that’s the far side of the spectrum, the good side, the great side, a reason I will keep going back to Monte.
The other side of that spectrum however, is Ocean Basket. A group of us decided to watch Transformers at the Nu Metro Il Grande (let me NOT start on the cinema, because we have had many issues there as well), and as a result we got to Monte too late to have a proper meal so we decided to have Ocean BAsket, judging by the Rosebank, Clearwater, Sandton and Sunninghill branches it seemed like a safe option.
It started off well, we arrived and asked for a table, the waiter brought our menus and we planned our meal. The waiter took over 15 minutes to take our order. which then took over 35 minutes to arrive.
The sushi was terrible. The peri-peri on prawns tasted like curry and we ate it to the ambiance of a man at the restaurant being rude to customers. Also, the restaurant did not have those portable Card machines and we had to go to the counter to pay for our meal (quite an annoyance when you’re rushing to watch a movie). When we finally got to the cinema we waited in the long queues for popcorn and watched a very long movie (that started late) where Rosie Huntington-Whiteley pranced around on falling buildings in black stilettos.
