Samsung has been leading the Android game for me since the Galaxy s 2 entered the market, apart from the huge screen. The 4.3″ was already a pretty big amount for a mobile, no phone that big is ever going to fit in my jeans pocket. The campaign, run by Unruly is piloted by this video.
Now there’s the Galaxy Note, a souped up, bigger, faster, better mobile. Samsung is pushing that it’s the ultimate on-the-go device, the marriage between a Tab and a Cellphone. It’s a Tab, with a screen that you could pass off as a cellphone, less scrolling and obviously a higher resolution, All I can think about is that if cellphones go this way, I’m never going to find one that fits in my jeans pocket again.
So this ‘Handbag Tab’ which is what I’m calling it (perfect cell for your handbag with Tab capabilities) could pretty much do anything for you (within reason) with it’s 1.4GHz Dual Core Processor. I had a computer three years ago that was a SINGLE core 1.4GHz and I ran SIMS 2 on that. And then there’s the HD AMOLED, Image and Video viewing is definitely going to be a breeze on that, especially with the larger screen, more text on a page and when watching videos people’s heads aren’t going to be the size of peas (maybe LARGE peas).
Also, I can’t forget to mention It’s Android. However, if you’re looking for Ice Cream Sandwich, this isn’t where you’re going to find it. Its kitted with Gingerbread.
What Samsung has to say:
“The GALAXY Note is a device borne of our insight and innovation. We examined the fundamental elements of mobile culture, entertainment and communication in order to bring together the best experiences in a single, elegant device,” said JK Shin, President and Head of Samsung’s Mobile Communications
Business. “The huge, 5.3” HD Super AMOLED screen is the largest, highest quality display available in any phone; the touch screen and S Pen combine to produce a uniquely accurate level of control and finesse, along with rich expressions across the GALAXY Note experience, enabling the introduction of new smartphone experiences.”
For me though, I won’t need any coercing to get this when my next upgrade comes.
